![]() ![]() There are two types of biomolecules, micromolecules and macromolecules. Biomolecules are also called organic compound or carbon compound. ![]() Calcium, potassium, magnesium and chloride are 5 essential ions in all species. Thus, they are the backbone of biomolecules. Conformational is 3-D arrangements of biomolecules, metabolism is biochemical pathways, energy production and utilization while informational is communication inside and between cells.Ĭarbon, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Oxygen, Phosphorus and Sulfur are nonmetallic elements which capable of forming strong covalent bonds. There are three areas of study biochemistry which are conformational, metabolism and informational. ![]() Biochemistry research applicable to the field such as medicine, agriculture and industry. Other than that, we could conduct experimental technique used in biochemistry. By learning the biochemistry, we also able to differentiate biochemical principles, enzymes and metabolic pathways. Biochemistry is vital in describing the structure and function of biomolecules. Task 1: Self-reflection on introduction to Biochemistryįrom this lecture 1, I had studied about the definition of biochemistry, significance of learning biochemistry and three areas of biochemistry.īiochemistry is study of life on molecular level, describe chemical process in living cell, and explain biology by using the principles and language of chemistry. ![]()
